As a member of the Australian Photography Association you will be entitled to ongoing services and benefits.
Apply to become an accredited APA photographer. (see APA Accredited Photographer Guidelines here)
If accredited, you will receive an APA Accredited Photographer certificate that you can display in your studio.
Access to the APA Accredited Photographer seal that you can use on all of your promotional material.
Member discounts at local and national workshops and conferences and APA events and products.
Support for your own ongoing professional development through applications to the Australian Photography Association Grants.
The opportunity to become a member of the board of directors or advisory committees and thus help shape the Australian Photography Association‘s strategic direction and activities.
We will add you to our Find a Photographer (your home state) page as soon as we receive an image or your logo that we can to place along with your listing with a link to your website.
Featured Photographer
As a full member of the APA, you can nominate to be a Featured Photographer on the APA website.
This feature page will be dedicated to your business & you can use it to promote upcoming events, special offers, your portfolio…..anything you wish to get out there to the 50,000 web visitors per month that the APA website receives.
Terms & Conditions to nominate for the "Featured Photographer" page.
To nominate to be a Featured Photographer.
Email us up to ten of your images as well as your bio & any other information that you would like to be placed on the page for consideration.
Please specify a preferred date that you would like your feature to be displayed.
The "Featured Photographer" page period starts on the 1st day of each month.
Please book your space at least 60 days prior to starting date.
Images remain the copyright of the photographer.
Once your feature period is over, all images will be removed from the page & we will not use them again without your written permission.
We also place a copyright protection script on the page to stop illegal copying of your work as well as alerting visitors to contact you if they wish to use or purchase any of your works on the page.
The "Featured Photographer" period is no less than one month at no cost to you.
If you wish to extend the period of your feature, there will be a nominal cost of $50.00 per 7 day period of extension & MUST be booked & paid in full, one month prior to your original feature starting date.

Advertising Packages
The Australian Photography Association, in conjunction with our graphic design partner, the designWorX www.thedesignworxaustralia.com have put together special advertising packages to suit all budgets, available in various sizes, producing effective results at rates that are priced to benefit all.
The APA doesn’t believe in outpricing the market, as our main objective is to promote Australian photography to a worldwide audience.
Ads must pertain to the photographic profession.
Advertising rates for the APA site start from $75.00 for a minimum 8 week term.
To apply for ad space, simply send us your details including
name, company (if applicable), contact details, your preferred dates
as well as your ad (for approval purposes).
For those without an ad, we can design one for you (additional costs apply).
We will endeavour to allocate your ad for the dates you require or as close to your preferred dates.
Longer term rates and special feature advertising packages are also available.

The Australian Photography Association reserves the right to decline an ad if it does not fit in with the APA’s policy.
If your ad is declined, we will contact you to let you know what modifications may be done to make your ad suitable to be placed on the site.
Website Development
We also offer a website design service, so if you don't have a site or need an upgrade, we can create one for you.
Show your portfolio online, market yourself, promote upcoming events etc on your own website with a dedicated domain name just for you.
You only pay a one off build & setup fee (including domain registration) of $550.00 for up to 10 pages. (additional pages from $20.00 per page).
After that it will cost you only a $10.00 per month site management fee.
That's it. We take care of the rest. You can update your site up to 3 times per year at no cost. Additional updates from $10.00 per page.
Photography Grants
We have a photography grants scheme available to members in the following categories -: Skills & Arts Development, New Works, Presentation & Promotion and Programs & Initiatives.
To be eligible, you must be a full member of the APA and meet the general eligibility requirements for applicants and provide the necessary support material.
Grants are available with amounts up to $5,000.00 (AUD) by submissions using the appropriate application form.
All grants are subject to the terms & conditions set out in the grant application forms & are allocated twice per year in April & October.
Applications for this years October round of grants are now open & close at 4pm on Friday 30th July 2010.

Exhibitions & Competitions
Throughout the year, the APA hosts several competitions & exhibitions which are open to all Australian based photographers.
As an APA member, you will be eligible to enter & exhibit your work at a discounted rate.
We will send you information regarding these to let you know dates, venues etc.

ACCREDITATION GUIDELINES
To become an APA Accredited Photographer, you must be a Full Member of the Australian Photography Association.
(If you are an Associated Member, you must be nominated by a Full Member to apply for accreditation.)
You must send us a portfolio of at least six images & no more than twelve, displaying your diversity or specialization in photography.
A short description of the images.
A brief bio describing your photographic experience.
The portfolio will be assessed by our creative team & you will be notified by mail if you have been approved.
After assessment, your portfolio will be returned to you.
Assessments will be completed within 14 days of us receiving your portfolio.
Your images remain fully & wholly copyright protected with you.
If we wish to use them in our promotional material, we will request your permission in writing.
